Her wedding band and a loose cushion diamond → one wide band

Her wedding band and a loose cushion diamond → one wide band — before
Marge's plain yellow gold wedding band, worn thin, and a cushion diamond with no setting to live in.

The story

This one wasn't inherited. It was Marge's own jewelry, and she was ready for it to look like her now instead of her then. The band had gone thin and the diamond had been sitting loose. She wanted one ring, wide, plain, and modern, that she could wear alone on any hand.

What we kept

  • The cushion diamond
  • Her original gold, melted into the new band

What we let go

  • The thin band profile
  • The idea that it had to read as a wedding ring
Her wedding band and a loose cushion diamond → one wide band — after, by Kate Rose
Wide flat yellow gold band, cushion diamond set flush between the shoulders. Polished, no prongs, nothing to catch.

The piece: Yellow gold, wide flat profile. Cushion-cut diamond, original, flush-set.

Client: Marge

A ring in a safe deposit box isn't an heirloom, it's an asset. An heirloom is something you put on.
